Agents & Workflows
Automation you stay in control of
Agents only think and write; workflows decide when they run and, on each step, what happens to the result — done automatically, sent to Approvals, or just a notification. This chapter covers agents, workflows and step settings, plus the Approvals queue where you make the calls agents leave to you.
At a glance
- Agents read and write; each workflow step decides what happens to the result.
- Describe an agent or a workflow in a sentence — Clynto drafts it for you to review.
- Custom agents run in workflows like built-in ones, with the same step settings and Approvals.
- Scheduled workflows run daily, weekly or monthly at a time you choose.
- A workflow can run for every matching account or only for the accounts you pick.

How agents work
Each agent has one of three kinds, shown as an icon on the Agents page (hover it, or expand the agent to read How it works): AI agent — an AI model reads the account's…
The built-in agents (18 shown, 20 in all)
Clynto has 20 built-in agents; the Agents page and Run agent show 18 (Task Creator and Notifier are now action steps, see the note below).
Step settings per profile
On the workflow canvas, each agent and action step shows a small chip with its setting; click the step to change it.
Building your own agent
On the Agents page click New agent.
The Approvals queue
Everything from a workflow step set to Needs approval (and High-Touch Task Closer closures) waits here, in the Approvals tab under Notifications (also at /approvals).
Tasks and the Task Closer
Tasks track work: Open → In progress → Completed, each with as many notes as you need.
Creating a workflow
Create workflow on the Workflows page opens a blank canvas with a Generate with AI panel on top: "What workflow do you want to create today?"
The workflow canvas
A strip across the top shows the four stages in the order they really run, each with a count and a warning if it's empty in a way that breaks things:
Triggers
Onboarding stalled, Champion gone quiet and Seat utilisation scan are agent-led: they hand every active account to their paired agent (Onboarding Stage Tracker,…
Scheduled workflows
Choose On a schedule as the trigger to run a workflow for every active account (or just the accounts it's limited to) at a set time, rather than when something happens.
Actions
Notify — an in-app notification to the CSM, and Slack if connected.
The 15 default workflows
Every workspace gets 15 ready-made workflows.
Run now and testing mode
Run now on the Workflows page always asks first, because it acts on real accounts straight away: Run & go live — runs now, switches the workflow on, and puts it in…
Why a workflow might do nothing
The canvas won't let an inert workflow look healthy.
