Inbound email: setup and speed
Last updated on
Customer email reaches Clynto at your workspace's inbound address (Settings → Email configuration → Inbound email). Mail from a known account domain becomes a ticket on that account; the panel lists each message with any auto-reply and how long it took.
| Mode | When | Speed |
|---|---|---|
| Webhook | a signing secret is configured | about 1–2 seconds |
| Polling | no webhook configured | up to 60 seconds |
With the webhook on, a sweep still runs every 10 minutes as a safety net. Both paths are safe together: each message is processed once, whichever arrives first.
Warning
The webhook address must point at the API host, not the website host; posting to the website returns an error and every delivery fails.
